Donald Riles

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Hi, I’m Donald Riles, a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with boys and adolescents. I support children and teens experiencing anxiety, emotional and behavioral challenges, and difficulties related to school, family, and peer relationships.

I hold a masters degree in social work and have 14 years of experience working with children and adolescents. I approach this work with patience, consistency, and respect for each child’s pace and individual needs.

A key part of my work is building a strong, trusting relationship with each child. Many boys and teens are unsure about therapy at first, so I take a thoughtful, developmentally appropriate approach to help them feel comfortable and understood. I focus on meeting them where they are, using their interests and communication style to support engagement. When that connection is in place, they are more open to the work and better able to make progress.

My approach integrates evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, in a way that is practical and tailored to each individual. I help clients develop skills to manage emotions, improve behavior, and navigate challenges more effectively in their day-to-day lives.

When appropriate, I involve parents in the process to support consistency and progress outside of sessions. This may include sharing strategies, providing guidance, and collaborating on goals for treatment.

If you’re considering therapy for your child, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to connect and see if this feels like a good fit.
