Brandon Burns
Licensed Professional Counselor
Hey! My name is Brandon Burns, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, school-related issues, relationship challenges, co-parenting challenges, domestic violence, life transitions, and more.
I utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness techniques to help support you in navigating life’s obstacles and achieving your goals.
My goal is to provide a safe environment where you feel not only supported, but also heard. At the end of the day, this is your journey, and I am here to help guide and support you along the way. I also like to incorporate some humor into sessions so that therapy does not always feel so heavy or daunting.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Professional Counseling from CCSU. Prior to joining LEAP, I worked in an outpatient setting helping adolescents and adults navigate a variety of challenges. I later transitioned to working in the Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) program at the same agency, where I helped families build communication skills, co-parenting strategies, and emotional regulation skills with the goal of reducing future IPV incidents.
In my free time, I enjoy watching movies and TV shows, hanging out with friends, playing basketball, and taking naps with my dog!
Please reach out if you feel ready to take the next step. I look forward to being a part of your journey!
