Substance Use & Addiction
Substance use often begins as a way to cope. A glass of wine to unwind. A pill to sleep. A hit to quiet the racing thoughts. But over time, what starts as relief can turn into something harder to control. Addiction doesn’t usually look like it does in movies. It can hide behind high-functioning jobs, parenting responsibilities, or a seemingly calm exterior. But underneath, there’s pain, disconnection, or a deeper need that hasn’t been addressed. At LEAP, we understand that substance use is not just a behavior. It’s a signal. A clue that something inside needs care, not shame. Whether you’re questioning your relationship with substances or actively working toward recovery, you deserve support that honors your story and helps you move forward in a sustainable way.
The LEAP Approach: How we Help
We work with individuals across all stages of substance use and recovery. That includes clients who are actively using substances to manage stress, anxiety, or trauma, struggling with binge or habitual use, navigating dual diagnoses, such as depression or PTSD alongside substance use, in early recovery or working to prevent relapse and also those who are supporting a family member with addiction. Our clinicians use evidence based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction strategies, and Relapse Prevention Therapy. We don’t force a one size fits all recovery path. Some clients want full sobriety. Others want to reduce use safely or address the root cause behind it. We meet you wherever you are and help you figure out what healing looks like for you.
Holistic Support and Community Collaboration
Addiction rarely affects just one person. It can impact partners, children, friends, and coworkers. That’s why we also work with families to build understanding, strengthen boundaries, and offer support without enabling. You don’t have to do this in isolation, and neither do your loved ones.
Our services may include individual therapy, family or couples therapy, telehealth options for privacy and flexibility, and referrals to outside programs when higher levels of care are needed. We can coordinate care with primary providers or recovery programs to make sure support is comprehensive and consistent.
There’s no shame in needing help. Whether you’re just starting to explore change or already deep in your recovery work, LEAP is here to walk with you. If substance use is interfering with your goals, your health, or your relationships, let’s talk. You’re not broken. You’re human. And support is available.
