My style is supportive, practical, and collaborative. I believe counseling works best when you feel comfortable being yourself and know you are being heard without judgment. Together, we can better understand what you are going through, build coping skills, and find tools that fit your life and goals.
I use a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approach. I provide counseling in both English and Spanish, and I understand how culture, family, and life experiences can shape the way we see ourselves and the challenges we face.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent many years as a bilingual educator, mentor, and family engagement specialist. I have always enjoyed learning and finding new ways to better support the people I work with. I am continuing that learning through upcoming EMDR training and doctoral studies. I am also involved with the Connecticut Counseling Association and currently serve as co-chair of its fall counseling conference, having been part of the planning team for the past few years.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, learning new things, and creating wellness programs.
Starting counseling can feel uncomfortable, but you do not need to have everything figured out. We can start wherever you are and work together toward the changes you want to make.
