Neurodivergence
At LEAP, we celebrate neurodiversity and are committed to providing compassionate, tailored support for individuals with diverse sensory processing, cognitive styles, behavior patterns, and brain functions. We understand that neurodivergent individuals—including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Sensory Processing Disorder, and other neurological differences—may face unique challenges in navigating social situations, developing independent living skills, and managing daily stressors. Neurodivergence encompasses a range of cognitive and behavioral differences that affect how individuals experience and interact with the world. These differences are not deficits but variations in brain functioning that can bring unique strengths and challenges.
The LEAP Approach: How we Help
At LEAP, we recognize that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. Instead, we tailor our services to meet the specific needs, goals, and preferences of each client. Our specialized services, led by experienced providers, offer a variety of interventions designed to help neurodivergent individuals thrive. Some common neurodivergent conditions we support include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and other learning differences, Tourettes, Nonverbal Learning Disability (NVLD) and Executive Functioning Challenges. Many clients benefit from a combined approach, using therapy to process emotions and coaching to implement practical life strategies. We offer individualized one-on-one therapy and coaching services, group social skills programs, and evidence-based approaches from specialized providers. LEAP offers a range of services designed to address the varied needs of neurodivergent clients. We focus on building social skills, enhancing coping mechanisms, and promoting independence, all while honoring individual strengths and preferences. Some of these research-based methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Social Skills Training, Executive Function Coaching, Sensory Integration Strategies, Mindfulness and Stress Reduction and Parent and Family Coaching.
Holistic Support and Community Collaboration
We believe that neurodivergent individuals thrive best when supported by a strong community network. LEAP collaborates with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to ensure comprehensive care. Some key areas of focus include Social Skills Development, Independent Living Skills, Learning Coping Strategies and Academic and Workplace Success. LEAP provides additional services to help support holistic wellbeing including IEP and 504 Plan Support, Workplace Coaching, Family Counseling and Telehealth Services.
